The main responsibilities of the Site Supervisor:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day activities on solar project sites, ensuring that construction works are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with design specifications and quality standards. The role includes close coordination with project engineers, project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.

The successful candidate will oversee all site activities from mobilization to commissioning and will be expected to proactively solve problems that arise during construction.

Typical job functions include:

Site Management & Supervision

  • Supervising installation teams and subcontractors on site
  • Ensuring work is carried out according to drawings, specifications, and safety procedures
  • Monitoring daily progress and ensuring construction schedules are followed
  • Organizing and leading daily toolbox talks and coordination meetings

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Enforcing site safety rules and PPE requirements
  • Identifying and reporting hazards and implementing corrective actions
  • Ensuring compliance with company and client HSE policies

Quality Control

  • Inspecting workmanship and materials delivered to site
  • Ensuring installation quality in accordance with standards and manufacturer requirements
  • Reporting and rectifying non-conformances

Coordination & Communication

  • Liaising with project engineers and project managers
  • Coordinating site logistics, manpower, and delivery of materials
  • Acting as primary point of contact on site for subcontractors and suppliers
  • Supporting testing, commissioning, and handover activities

Reporting & Documentation

  • Preparing daily and weekly site progress reports
  • Maintaining site records, checklists, and as-built updates
  • Tracking material usage and inventory on site

In addition to the above, the Site Supervisor is expected to coordinate and work effectively with other members of the team, and to assist with furthering the goals of the company in general, even where this may involve work that is not strictly related to their day-to-day responsibilities.

Potential candidates should have:

  • Diploma in Electrical or a related technical field
  • 4-8 years of experience in construction or site supervision (preferably solar PV)
  • Strong knowledge of on-site safety practices and construction procedures
  • Ability to read drawings and interpret technical documents
  • Good command of English and Arabic for communication with teams, clients, and subcontractors
  • Confidence taking responsibility and working independently on active project sites
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high quality standards
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required

In addition, the following attributes would be an advantage:

  • Experience in installation of rooftop or ground-mounted PV systems
  • Knowledge of electrical installation practices and standards
  • Previous experience supervising subcontractors
  • Familiarity with testing and commissioning of PV systems
  • Experience preparing site reports and documentation
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or basic solar design/simulation software
